Founder Bio
Dr. Steven Liu is the founder and principal of RF Photonic Technologies Inc. (RFPT). He has over 30 years of experience in the RF and optical communications industries and specializes in high-speed optoelectronic components and modules, RF circuits, and fiber optic communications systems.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Technical University of Denmark. He is a Senior Member of IEEE with 32 publications in international journals and conferences.
Steven has held various engineering and managerial positions at large telecom companies such as Alcatel Network Systems and Lucent Technologies, as well as optical component and system start-ups such as Corvis Corp. and Multiplex Inc. Prior to founding RFPT in 2016, he served as the Vice President of R&D for O-Net Communications Group and was the founding head of O-Net (USA) in Silicon Valley, where he built a strong technical team, managed daily operations, led new product development, and transferred TOSA/ROSA/BOSA and Transceivers to factories for 40G/s and 100G/s datacom markets.
In addition to his strong technical background, Steven has a wide industry network developed over three decades across North America, Europe, and Asia. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to RFPT and its clients.
